ARM – Amine Research and Monitoring
Department of Chemistry, University of Oslo, have been with TCM since its opening, using highly advanced chemical-analytical instrumentation to determine what amines are released into the atmosphere by TCM and how much of them. We also study what happens to these amines in the atmosphere once they are released from TCM’s stack. We thereby contribute to assessing the environmental risks associated with the amine-based CO2 capture activities at TCM.
OUR WORK CONSISTS OF:
- Environmental impact assessment of atmospheric amine emissions
- Online mass spectrometric measurements of amines (atmospheric emissions, impurities in the CO2 stream, baseline levels in the natural atmosphere, workplace monitoring)
- Chemical-analytical method development and characterization
